Kindred keeps your money to yourself.

The short version: Kindred collects nothing. The app runs entirely on your device, computes every number locally, and does not send your budget to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no analytics, and no tracking.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Kindred app (on the App Store and at app.kindred.finance) and to this website, kindred.finance. Kindred is operated by Kindred; reach us any time at support@kindred.finance.
What the app stores, and where
The budget information you enter — accounts, envelopes, transactions, obligations, goals, and your settings — is saved on your device, in the app's own private storage. It never leaves the device by way of Kindred. We have no server that receives it, no database that holds it, and therefore no copy of it to lose, sell, or hand over.
Because that data lives only on your device, uninstalling the app or erasing the device removes it. Keep a device backup if the data matters to you.
What we do not do
- No account and no login. We never ask for your name, email, or password.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data, and no data brokers.
- No bank connection in this version — the app does not link to your bank or touch your bank credentials.
Apple App Privacy
On the App Store, Kindred's privacy label is Data Not Collected. No data is collected from the app, and nothing is linked to your identity or used to track you.
Children's privacy
Kindred is a general-audience budgeting tool and is not directed to children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. (Kindred Kids, a separate experience for families, is planned and not part of this app; if and when it ships, it will have its own clearly stated terms.)
Importing a file
If you import a CSV of your own transactions, that file is read and processed in the app on your device and folded into your local data. It is not uploaded anywhere.
This website
The kindred.finance pages are static and do not set tracking cookies or run analytics. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts to render the page; your browser requests them directly from Google, which may log the request per Google's privacy policy. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability; we do not use them to build a profile of you.
If this ever changes
If a future version of Kindred adds optional sync or accounts, this policy will be updated to describe exactly what that involves before the feature ships, any such feature will be opt-in, and the change will be dated at the top of this page. The commitment behind Kindred does not change: your money is yours, and honesty comes first.
